ACTING CAREER MENTORING CLASS
What is it?
Career mentoring classes can take many different forms. The two most popular probably are 1. working with a group of people and one coach in an open session style of class or, 2. working one on one with a coach on a more personal level. The one thing that these classes will have in common is the presence of a coach who will assist you in getting your acting career and your life in sync and supporting one another so that you can get the most out of your time, your money and your talent…and ultimately start seeing results in your career.
For whom is it for and what are the benefits?
Quite simply an acting career mentoring class will benefit everyone. Actors, doctors, cleaners, lawyers, builders, artists, students – anyone who wants to get more results out of their career. By working with a coach you will have an outside eye that can take a look at your approach and show you where you may be wasting time and money or show you areas of your life to which you need to pay more attention or areas you need to develop.
There are a couple advantages to this. If you have been trying to make progress in your acting career or in whatever career you have chosen, and not getting anywhere, then having someone who knows how to help you structure your career goals is a big plus. Secondly, having someone who "gives you homework" to do and whom you have to check in with will keep the pressure on you to do what you need to do to get the results you want. And lastly, if you are in an acting career mentoring class with other actors, that can provide even more motivation, because you will learn not only from your teacher or coach, but also from what the other student actors are doing in their careers.
Acting career coaches have made it their business to help you get your career on the right track and are filled with helpful information and tips that they will tailor to your life and your personality so that you can have your own plan to what you want out of your actng career. Perhaps the trickiest thing about taking a career class is finding the coach that is right for you. Shop around before you choose one and ask the right questions during your initial interview with them. You also might want to ask another actor or someone you know who is getting good results in their career, lots of acting auditions, lots of acting work to see if they can recommend some acting career coach for you or an acting career mentoring class.
Once you start doing your research into acting career mentoring classes, you will start to get a better understanding of what is out there and what will be right for you.
Here on ActingCareerStartUp.com you will find a self-study guide for coaching yourself at the beginning of your acting career.
