At this prestigious school you can study not only acting but also design, sound design, directing, dramaturgy and dramatic criticism, playwriting, stage management, technical design and production, and theater management.
Angela Bassett, Paul Giamatti, Elia Kazan, Frances McDormand, Paul Newman, Liev Schreiber, Meryl Streep and Sigourney Weaver are some of this school's most famous graduates.

You can apply online; Yale recommends that you work on your application over a period of a couple of days, saving your work each time.
Julliard

Julliard is located in New York City. It’s drama course runs for four years and requires you to audition after every year you complete to stay in the program. This is all after you have been accepted. Auditions take place in January/February but all of your paperwork should be submitted by no later than the beginning of December.

Rutgers

This program offered at New Jersey's state university is an MFA course that runs for three years and is designed for students who wish to become professional actors. You should visit the website to find a full list of what you need to prepare for your audition and application. It is also interesting to note that Rutgers has a training conservatory in London. As well as acting you can also study design and stage-managing here.

Like Harvard, Brown University has a working relationship with a professional theater company to help the training of its student-actors. This theater company is the Trinity Rep and the collaboration allows the students to have professional experience with a company while they are studying.
Columbia
