To Tony,
I have to say this is the best acting site i have EVER been to. I'm sure you have helped many people begin their dream! I've helped in advertising your site to over 38 of my aspiring actor friends. You are doing an amazing thing by helping these people. I wish you the best in your acting career so that you may be a role model for all those who look up to your sucess.

Anthony,
Happy New year to you. I really enjoy your e-mails and your website. As someone who has just started the journey of becoming an actor I enjoy your site which is full of wonderful insights and answers to questions I have had, and it's funny but it seems as though every time you update your site, it answers a question I have been struggling with at that point.

Thank you for your website, you have helped me a lot as I know you have helped numerous others.

Have a wonderful 2008 and may you break a leg in everything you do this year as an actor.

Sam T Kelly, actor, Los Angeles, CA

Tony,
I did what you said and…I got two interviews with two agents! Thank you! Sorry but can I ask you…how do I prepare to go meet the agent? What do I have to do?
Marsha P., New York, NY, USA

Tony,
I just wanted to let you know that I copied a quote of your's and I'm putting it on my refrigerator when I move to L.A. this next week. Thanks for the continued encouragement to all of us trying to achieve our goals. Keep up the good work.

Best,

Treating Acting As A Career

10. The Concept Of Sustainable Growth

You will want to treat your acting as a career if you are really serious and in this for the long haul.

Once again, the parallel between business and acting as a career. Businesses make growth projections based on trends in the market, their ability to respond to what consumers need and want, and based on their plans. They try to ensure that over time, they will continue to grow. That means that they not only think about the effect their actions will have in the short term, but also in the long-term. They want to ensure that what they're doing today will provide a base for what happens tomorrow.

The last thing you want is to be blindsided because you weren’t prepared. That is one of the big benefits of planning and research. Keeping abreast of what’s happening and staying informed helps to reduce that risk, because you are prepared and can react in real time to any challenges that arrive.

The planning process is designed to ensure that the company will continue to grow over time. This is the concept of sustainable growth. To do this, it is necessary to have a long-term strategy.

This is why it is important to take time at the beginning of any endeavor to set it up right. Think about more than just what you are doing today. Think rather about how what you are doing today is going to positively affect, not only today, but also tomorrow. Plant the seeds on fertile ground, in the right climate and at the right time will ensure that you reap a great harvest. Setting up the business well, getting your training, being disciplined and applying business principles and working hard can't help but set you up a business that will keep you busy for a long time, that's if and only if, you treat your acting as a career.
