Happy New year to you. I really enjoy your e-mails and your website. As someone who has just started the journey of becoming an actor I enjoy your site which is full of wonderful insights and answers to questions I have had, and it's funny but it seems as though every time you update your site, it answers a question I have been struggling with at that point.
Thank you for your website, you have helped me a lot as I know you have helped numerous others.
Have a wonderful 2008 and may you break a leg in everything you do this year as an actor.

It is vital to know exactly who the acting industry professionals are to whom you are marketing your products and services. In other words, as a business person, you have customers to whom you market and you must know who they are.
Many small businesses fail for this reason. They try and market to anyone and everyone, thinking that if they canvas the territory, they will have greater success. On the contrary. The more focused companies are in marketing to their target consumer, the more effective their efforts and the return will be on their advertising spending. In your case, you must take into consideration and focus your efforts on acting industry professionals.
When I was working for Nike, I used to have customers who wanted to choose from our entire line of more than eight hundred models of shoes. We placed our shoes in the marketplace based on where consumers would go to find them. It didn’t make sense to place a lot of top-of-the-line shoes in stores whose consumers had extremely limited budgets.
This also happens on the Internet. People set up businesses and try and market to “the world,” thinking that their message will reach everyone. However, their marketing message or ad ends up being so generic that many people don’t feel like it speaks to them, and sales are thus limited. On the other hand, there are those who market to a tight niche. The tighter the better. When ads are written for those consumers, the messages hit home, because they are tailored specifically for them.
Your customers or the acting industry professionals, the people who you sell your services to are probably among others:

· Producers
· Directors
· Playwrights
· Teachers you want to accept you into their school
· Acting Industry Career Coaches
· Acting Teachers
· Acting Coaches

· Any acting industry professionals who can help you further your career!
With regard to your goals as an actor, just think about what the acting industry has to offer you, how it can help you and who the industry professionals are who can help you to get what you want.

Hi Tony
I would like to thank you for helping me with the monologue question I asked in October 2007. I went to the auditions for a Drama course and I am happy to say that I have been accepted as a first-year student at the Tshwane University of Technology.
Please keep on sending me those newsletters and let me know where I can find books that will help me in my acting career.
Thank you once more.
Have a blessed day.
Sincerely
