Hi Tony!
Most people don’t even take the time to tell a person how to reach their goal. I want to thank you for everything and for responding to my messages. Sometimes I just test people to see if they really care about my career and you do. You can continue to send me some tips on how I can accomplish my goals, because you inspire me a lot. Thank you for caring.

What is age range?

If you don't know what your age range is, you should.

There is an unspoken rule in the acting industry that says you should never answer the question, "How old are you?" when posed by an acting industry professional, such as a casting director or agent. It's better to talk about your range of ages that you can play as an actor. In this short video clip, I interviewed a young actress and acting student in Los Angeles who looks amazingly young for her age. I was promted to ask her what she thinks the different ages are that she could play. Look at the video here on the right to see who she is and what she says.

I find it amusing sometimes when some young kids tell me that at age sixteen they are already too old to start acting, because they want to be on Disney Channel for example or land a role on a Nickelodeon show. What many don't realize is that a lot of actors on such programs and whose characters are teenagers, are in reality in their late teens and in some cases in their early twenties. But this subject of age and the different kinds of roles one can play is not limited to younger actors, it is very relevant for actors at every age.

Every actor should know the various types of roles he/she can play and that means knowing the ages of the characters in those roles. It's part of knowing yourself as best you can. The better you know yourself, the more effective you can be at marketing yourself. Always remember that. So now the question to you. What do you think your age range is? If you want some guidance about how you can get to know yourself better, we have a guide here on ActingCareerStartUp.com to help you with that.

You will want to do more research on age range and starting an acting career in general.
