To Tony,
I have to say this is the best acting site i have EVER been to. I'm sure you have helped many people begin their dream! I've helped in advertising your site to over 38 of my aspiring actor friends. You are doing an amazing thing by helping these people. I wish you the best in your acting career so that you may be a role model for all those who look up to your sucess.

-Rachael W., actress, Canada

Anthony,
Happy New year to you. I really enjoy your e-mails and your website. As someone who has just started the journey of becoming an actor I enjoy your site which is full of wonderful insights and answers to questions I have had, and it's funny but it seems as though every time you update your site, it answers a question I have been struggling with at that point.

Thank you for your website, you have helped me a lot as I know you have helped numerous others.

Have a wonderful 2008 and may you break a leg in everything you do this year as an actor.

Sam T Kelly, actor, Los Angeles, CA

Tony,
I did what you said and…I got two interviews with two agents! Thank you! Sorry but can I ask you…how do I prepare to go meet the agent? What do I have to do?
Marsha P., New York, NY, USA

Tony,
I just wanted to let you know that I copied a quote of your's and I'm putting it on my refrigerator when I move to L.A. this next week. Thanks for the continued encouragement to all of us trying to achieve our goals. Keep up the good work.

Best,
Kyle S., actor

How To Go About
Choosing Acting Classes

5. How Do You Go About Choosing The Right Acting Classes?

It's not just about choosing acting classes, it's about choosing the right acting classes for you. You might want to check out a page on actingcareerstartup.com where I wrote extensively about this and about the importance of having criteria when choosing your school and I tell you what my particular criteria are. It might help you in choosing acting classes in the USA.

Just remember that first of all there are different techniques. A lot of new actors, just like I did when I first started taking acting classes, think that the acting technique is method acting and that’s not true. Look around, inform yourself. And believe me, there are different teachers!

I started studying acting in a theatre company in Milan and when I asked them what the technique was, they told me that it was “a mix.” I then studied with a woman who used a very interesting book called, Inner Work by a guy named Robert Johnson. It was all based on dream work and extracting the emotions from your dreams to use in scenes. Some like it, but I found it to be very laborious and complicated. I didn’t get results quickly. Then I found the Meisner technique and I love it! It’s easier to apply and faster for me to get results and be real. I like my teacher too, which is a plus and her school, Ward Acting Studio. She has several foreign students each year studying there. Last year there were even two girls who came from Japan with an interpreter. The girls had won a free trip to New Y ork for a few weeks to investigate acting classes in the USA.
