for stellar acting auditions!
Audition and acting are two different things. It’s like playing tennis. The serve and the volley are two completely different things. But in both acting and tennis, you can’t do one without the other. For this reason it’s not enough just to know how to volley as in acting, it’s not enough just to know how to act, to have a good acting technique. Actors must perfect “the serve” of their craft. They must learn how to audition so well that they get called back and book acting work...consistently. That's what the video you will see here below is all about.. |
For film and television auditions one of the things actors are asked to do is to do what is called a “cold read”, which means they will be given a text either days before the audition or just moments before the audition actually begins. An actor who has been properly trained in the art of reading this text, interpreting it and above all, making it real, the first time they read it has a better chance of actually booking the job.
In our quest to provide you, the visitors to ActingCareerStartUp.com with the best possible information that will help you to start and pursue a successful acting career, we bring you yet another great interview with Amy Lyndon, creator of The Lyndon Technique for actors.
See this part of the exclusive video interview with working actress and booking coach Amy Lyndon here below.
Amy is an international booking coach and a working actress, who has been helping actors for years to perfect the art of reading text and script for auditions In this part of an exclusive interview for ActingCareerStartUp.com, Amy shares three cold reading tips, that if you master them, will certainly help you to improve your booking rate!
You can visit Amy Lyndon’s website to learn more about what she does to help actors as well as cold reading tips and information about the infamous Lyndon Technique.

Where you can find acting auditions.
Pick up a copy of Amy's book. What I personally like about it is that it is practical and that doesn't just teach actors a lot of "stuff". It teaches actors how to actually book acting jobs! Check it out.
