To Tony,
I have to say this is the best acting site i have EVER been to. I'm sure you have helped many people begin their dream! I've helped in advertising your site to over 38 of my aspiring actor friends. You are doing an amazing thing by helping these people. I wish you the best in your acting career so that you may be a role model for all those who look up to your sucess.

-Rachael W., actress, Canada

Anthony,
Happy New year to you. I really enjoy your e-mails and your website. As someone who has just started the journey of becoming an actor I enjoy your site which is full of wonderful insights and answers to questions I have had, and it's funny but it seems as though every time you update your site, it answers a question I have been struggling with at that point.

Thank you for your website, you have helped me a lot as I know you have helped numerous others.

Have a wonderful 2008 and may you break a leg in everything you do this year as an actor.

Sam T Kelly, actor, Los Angeles, CA

Tony,
I did what you said and…I got two interviews with two agents! Thank you! Sorry but can I ask you…how do I prepare to go meet the agent? What do I have to do?
Marsha P., New York, NY, USA

Tony,
I just wanted to let you know that I copied a quote of your's and I'm putting it on my refrigerator when I move to L.A. this next week. Thanks for the continued encouragement to all of us trying to achieve our goals. Keep up the good work.

Best,
Kyle S., actor

Some Great Music Career Information...
For Actors!

I picked up this Music Career Information from a long-time music producer named Aaron Beats.

I immediately felt drawn to what he said, because it's the same thing I have been saying here on ActingCareerStartUp.com and it's the same message I give actors in my book Acting Career Star-Up! The same message. It's nice to hear someone else say it too.

Check it out, because you can't get away from reality. There are no short cuts!

So here are some music career information tips for actors!

You May Not Make It in the Music Industry If…

…You may not make it if you or someone else in your camp doesn’t understand marketing. The music industry today is about who you know and how you market. Those are the reasons why you hear garbage on the radio all throughout the day, because even though the artist may not be very talented as an artist, they or someone they know is super talented in marketing.

You also may not make it if you are not a truly passionate hustler. The fact that you are a hot talented artist or label means nothing, if you don’t have the desire or ability to hustle. Everybody wants to be successful, but hardly anyone wants to put in the work that is required to make success a reality. You may be talented, but there are 10 more people who are just as talented, and there are a few people who are less talented, but they will still make it before you…

…That is because they will hustle harder to make their dream come true. They want success as an artist bad…so bad that not even their own mediocre talent or even lack of talent will stop them.

Still more wise music career information tips

So what are you going to do that makes you stand above the rest? What steps are you going to take starting today to make your success happen? Why should you make it instead of the other 10 artists who are competing against you? While you are sleeping, hangin’ out, or whatever, they are either in the studio working, or on the streets promoting, or promoting online and building their fan base, or performing.

If you want to become a full-time rapper, singer, songwriter, or whatever, then you have to put in the work now, even when it seems like you are working for nothing, you have to keep going. When I was working my job, I didn’t get much rest. As soon as I got home from work, I was going to work…for my music career. Sometimes it did feel like I was just putting in effort and seeing little results, but I had to always focus on the ultimate goal, and not the inconveniences that came along the way.

When I was finally able to quit my job and go full-time into the music industry, then I thought to myself, and I still do often, “What if I had given up and just settled for working at the gig?” That is why I am passionate about making sure that you don’t quit, and that you stay persistent in reaching your goals. I know that if I was able to make music a full-time lucrative career, then you can do it to.

I will do my best to provide you with the tools, but it is ultimately up to you to use them and make things happen…
