Many of the visitors to ActingCareerStartUp.com have either never been on an audition or have been on auditions that didn’t go so well. They were either too nervous or jittery, couldn’t seem to concentrate or were just plain scared to death; so much so that they not only gave a poor performance, but maybe more importantly, they left a bad impression with the casting director or agent they auditioned for. It happened to us all at one time or another when we first started auditioning. |
That’s why I thought it would be interesting to hear from a young actress who is and has been taking classes for a few years now and who has offered to share some of her acting audition experience with you.
This video here below is part of an exclusive interview I did with a young lady in Los Angeles who is studying at the Young Actor's Studio there. In this part, she talks abou some of her experience auditioning and what it's like. She also talks about how much time you actually have to make a good first impression, what she does to help herself feel more comfortable and where she learned that technique.
You'll soon find bits and pieces of this interview sprinkled throughout the site as well as other interviews from other acting industry professionals and other actors. In addition, you will find an interview with Jeff Alan-Lee, the acting teacher who teaches this young actress you see in the video.
